Workbench: Record-breaking Waterloo
Take part in the world’s largest wargame!
Next summer, Warlord Games will be involved in the largest tabletop wargame ever, as part of the Waterloo Replayed project. Collecting together over 200,000 28mm miniatures, the event seeks to recreate Napoleon’s final battle using our excellent Black Powder ruleset.
THE GREAT GAME – WATERLOO REPLAYED
This is a one-off event in June 2019 in support of the charity – Waterloo Uncovered – which will set
a world record for the largest ever historical wargame in 28mm.
An application has been made to Guinness World Records to make this official.
The game will take place on the 15th and 16th June 2019 at University of Glasgow, Kelvin Gallery, using the award-winning Black ‘Powder rules. The Great Game is running in support of the Waterloo Uncovered charity that Warlord Games has been pleased to help since the Waterloo bicentenary.
We’ve decided to field the 2nd and 3rd battalion of the 95th Rifles using our own range of metal miniatures. This amounts to 144 models in total or 9 boxes of our green-jacketed riflemen.
Assembling and painting all these models is going to be quite the challenge, so we’re asking you to come down and get involved. Just pop into the store and give us a hand getting these brave boys battle-ready!
We dropped in on Connor in our HQ store, to give him a hand getting together some of the product we’ll need to get these battalions ready. Bear in mind that what we’re showing here is only a third of what we’ll actually need to paint and assemble.
We will also be helping to put on demonstration and participation games of battles in the British Isles, from the Roman Invasion of Britain through to the Battle of Britain.
