Two New Breaker 3D Sculpts

Breaker: Ari Gaylen - Concept art by John "Geng" Gendall

Breaker: Ari Gaylen – Concept art by John “Geng” Gendall

In the last couple of weeks we’ve gotten some great new art and two new 3D sculpts for the Breakers. Above is Ari Gaylen, a character who normally volunteers for the most dangerous work details. As a fatalistic thrill junkie, Ari Gaylen has survived the grinding misery of Tracted life by living it to its fullest. Still, like most Tracted she would gladly turn against her masters if she thought she’d have any chance of success, or at least a quick death if she failed. In Broken Contract, Ari Gaylen has above average Agility and has an ability called “Who Dares Wins” which gives her the ability to re-roll any die roll once per game. This art has already been sent to off Tim Barry for 3D sculpting.

Breaker: Talla Kellerman the Progen Mechanic - sculpt by Tim Barry

Breaker: Talla Kellerman the Progen Mechanic – sculpt by Tim Barry

The above sculpt is for a character named Talla Kellerman, the Progen Mechanic. Upon the terraformed planets of the 2300’s, the earliest colonists, or Progens, receive preferential treatment, and their lives are just a little less miserable than those of the newer contracted laborers. As a Progen, Talla Kellerman has a lot to lose by breaking; the term for going awol on your work assignment and breaking your work contract. Talla has intimate knowledge of areas of the mines never seen by other Tracted, and has had to repair and program the security doors, freight elevators, and other machinery throughout the FerrumSky facility. Unfortunately, she must first be convinced to join your cause before she will break. Talla Kellerman is the focal point of one of the scenarios in the forth coming Deep Underground, and must be found and negotiated with to break through what are called Dealing Checks. Once she is among your Breaker crew getting around pesky security systems with her above average Intellect will become much easier, as will negotiating with other Progens you might encounter along the way. Plus, her wrench has some serious weight to it if she can connect with it.

Breaker: Trest the Gen-Mod Brute - sculpt by Tim Barry

Breaker: Trest the Gen-Mod Brute – sculpt by Tim Barry

This sculpt is of Trest, the Gen-Mod Brute, a hulking behemoth engineered to perform as a living machine. Gen-Mods are capable of employing mining equipment that would normally be installed onto some sort of vehicle. The corporations of the future have found that by shipping bodies across space and time, rather than shipping gargantuan machinery is more efficient. Humans frequently reproduce and their offspring require less space and resources than massive mining vehicles. As the Tracted are constantly in debt to the Executives, they will often surrender their babies to the Gen-Mod program to ensure they are cared for. In the end, these genetic modification orphanages produce chemically dependent ogres who derive even less joy out of Tracted life than their conventional human peers. Trest’s massive body gives him an extra Wound in combat, and his inhuman Strength allow him to lift devastating equipment that others cannot. His achilles heel is his Gen-Mod Apparatus, which feeds him a steady diet of chemicals to keep him euphoric during those 16 hour work days, but also prevents him from dying out of exhaustion or from the shock of crippling dependency.

What do you think? We’d love to hear your input as we build our way towards our next Kickstarter.
