The Year of DreadBall Continued… Reveal #5

At the start of the year we promised a Year of DreadBall, and swiftly followed up with DreadBall Season 4, DreadBall Xtreme and the DreadBall Xtreme website.

This is being followed up with supported competitive play, DreadBall Season 5, the Xtreme Xpansion and Player Manual, a new book which allows you to play your DreadBall team in DreadBall Xtreme. We may even squeeze out Season 6 before the end of the year too.

In this blog we will look at supported competitive play and DreadBall Season 5, before previewing the Xtreme Xpansion and Player Manual tomorrow. There will be a cool competition as well.

To the Stars

What do you think of DreadBall – The Futuristic Sports Game?

We were recently at the Portal Gaming Club in the UK and they said that they used to play DreadBall but felt that there wasn’t an awful lot of support for the game, which surprised us.

It’s a perception we want to change, and we’d really appreciate hearing your views in the comments.

When we look at DreadBall we see a beast of a gaming system with tons of choice in the vast number of different teams and game modes you can play.

If any of our games lend themselves to a competitive or league play it’s DreadBall, and we want to do all we can to support these activities in the community.

Already Ronnie and Community Pat have commissioned a DreadBall Rankings system, working with a professional outfit in the United States to build a dedicated website where you can go and see the best players in the world, and we are exploring Organised Play kits so that we can encourage league play.

We look forward to sharing more on this with you over the next couple of months.

If you want to host a DreadBall event and would like some support for your league or tournament, please contact [email protected].

A Taste of the Xtreme

Forget what you think you know!

The X-citement of Xtreme comes to the DGB – sort of!

New teams, new rules and a whole lot of fresh havoc can only mean one thing – it’s new season time for the Galaxy’s Greatest Sport ™

The regs get relaxed for the first time ever to allow modified organics, tailor made robots and even experimental limb grafts in the ongoing search for the perfect DreadBall player.

Exhibition Matches allow coaches to go wild, drafting in players of any shape, size or species for one off matches where anything goes. Think you could create the perfect combination of Guards, Jacks and Strikers? Now’s the time to prove it.

Free Agents arrive to lend their arms, tentacles and teeth to the highest bidder.

New teams bring the Xtreme edge – or do they?

The fifth Season of DreadBall begins in June. It brings with it:

See the first rules previews for the Mechanites and Kovossian Mutant teams here on Quirkworthy.

We Can Rebuild Him: Create the next generation of DreadBall player with enhancement options available to all DreadBall teams.

Free Agents: Free Agents have existed since Season One, yet Season 5 introduces two new Free Agent tables. Now underdogs can take Free Agents straight from Xtreme in their team, in addition to a few players from the teams included in Season 5.

freeagentsStrikezone Stunners: A new crop of bespoke and characterful MVPs join the upper echelons of fame and fortune (or infamy and notoriety depending on who we are talking about.)

And finally…

Author’s Note – Kickstarter backers and some of our hardcore fans may already have seen some of these shots, but for most of the general public this will be the first time that all of this has been out into the public domain.

However, if you want to see something  that nobody will have seen yet, head over to the DreadBall Xtreme Kickstarter page.

As usual, click the images for a closer look and please, let us know what you think in the comments.
