It’s In Development Now…

Before the Kickstarter campaign launches.  For wargaming enthusiasts, this is the opportunity for you.  SimplePolyTrix, a single-person operating machine, is creating a large collection of 3D digital models that are soon to be available to download through crowdfunding.  Some 40 models will be bundled for one price.  The Kickstarter bundle will include sci-fi military, modern and Gothic terrain.  Within the bundles, there will be “sets” of smaller collections such as interior corridors (see image below).  Estimated price for the bundle is $25 to $50.  Those unable to participate will be able to purchase individually on the developing website afterwards.

It All Began as a Simple Solution to Eliminate Monotony of a Day Job…

Creating 3D photorealistic interior renderings by day, the developer sought contractual jobs for 3D rendering.  When that proved to be fruitless, a friend suggested creating imagery on his own and went on further to suggest making 3D printable models for wargaming.  The notion was inspiring to say the least, and quickly several models had been created.  To promote the notion of 3D printable wargaming terrain, a facebook page was created to post renderings, photos of prototypical printing, videos, as well as latest news on the anticipated Kickstarter program.

The plan is for the Kickstarter campaign to begin sometime in Mid-July.  SimplePolyTrix will be attending the convention GenCon in August, giving away free 3d printed terrain.

All terrain will be set to the popular 32 mm scale.

If successful, plans to continue creating other bundles of various genres are in the works including World War 2, Fantasy, and Future Fantasy.
