Job Description
The Model Product Manager (MPM) is an entry level position within Privateer Press’ Project Management team. The MPM oversees the entire model production schedule of Privateer Press. In addition to managing the comprehensive schedule of model creation and production, the MPM is responsible for tracking and working with the Privateer Press Leadership Team to ensure the timely delivery of each model project milestone and delivery date as defined by the overall model schedule. In this role the MPM is responsible for acting as the liaison between the Art and Design, Studio, and Production departments to ensure all parties are aware of their expected delivery timelines and responsibilities for each project. Should a project become stalled, it is the MPM’s responsibility to identify the issue causing the delay and work with the specific department managers and Privateer Press Leadership Team to solve the issues hampering the project’s progress.

As part of this work, the MPM is expected to provide regular status updates to both the Studio Manager, Director of Operations, and Executive Director on the status of the various model projects. The MPM is also responsible for ensuring that all projects follow proper process and procedure, as well as acting as a primary stakeholder in providing feedback and suggestions on how to improve efficiency and effectiveness on Privateer’s Model Production Process to the Privateer Press Leadership team.
This is a full-time position in our Bellevue, WA office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product Management – The MPM is responsible for ushering projects along the entire production life cycle from concept to deployment.
  • The MPM is responsible for scheduling and leading approval and review meetings for every project as set forth by the Model Production Process.
  • Total Project Scheduling – The MPM will work with the Executive Director, Chief Creative Officer, Director of Operations, and Studio Manager to create and maintain the complete model product schedule and will take every step necessary to ensure that all projects complete on time to Privateer Press’ quality standards. They will also be the primary person to alert the Executive Director and the leadership team of the current status of Privateer Press’ available model project bandwidth to ensure proper planning from the highest levels.
  • Analysis – The SPM performs analysis on all projects with the Director of Operations and Studio Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, budgetary concerns, process improvements, file management and storage, and efficient workflow. The MPM will also perform feasibility analysis on model projects before they are approved for official production.
  • Resource coordination – The MPM coordinates with the Studio Manager and Director of Operations to balance workload and schedules across all Privateer Press departments.
  • Reporting – The MPM is expected to provide regular status updates to the Leadership Team on the current status of all projects under their purview, and to provide analysis and feedback on potential issues to ensure timely delivery of top quality products.
