Game Board Prototype Overview

Hello again guys, we’re back with another look at the prototype, this time the Game Board. One of the most important aspects of a tabletop, the magnetised Game Board ensures that your miniatures and terrain will not be going anywhere, even when you’re not playing in the most stable environments. The Game Board is the equivalent of a 6’ by 4’ table, scaled down and cut into six pieces – each measuring only 128x128mm.

The six segments of the Board each slot together with ease, as displayed in the video below. As you can see, there is a simple locking mechanism in place to keep everything together, and the size of the board can be increased further (say if you wanted to incorporate more players or stage some truly huge games) with room for more pieces to be added above or to the left of the six piece Game Board.

Game Board Finished

Below is pictured everything that you would receive in the Game Board box. To the the left are the six locking pieces, and to the right are the magnetic sheet and the base sheet of card. Assembly of each board piece is then a simple matter of sandwiching the locking piece between the other two sheets.

Game Board Unconstructed

As you can see in the picture below, each segment is numbered for ease of initial construction, as well as dictating which pieces of the board fit where.

Game Board Close Up

We hope you guys are enjoying the prototype so far, but we’ve saved the best for last as we will soon be able to show you the miniatures that will be a part of Pocket General!

The Pocket General Team.
