Lit Objective Markers Explained

With this new Kickstarter campaign for PoweredBases we are once again on the receiving end of a lot of well-wishing and support; which based on our experience in the community over the last two years is not surprising. What has been surprising is the response we have gotten to one of our give-aways, something we are working with the incomparable Josh Greenman of Greenman Designs, Inc. to design and manufacture, Lit Objective Markers.

I want to take this opportunity to describe the Lit Objective Markers, as well as explain how they fit into the reward structure of our current Kickstarter campaign for PoweredBases.

Lit objective markers

Lit Objective Marker Construction

The Lit Objective Markers run on CR2032 batteries and are made up of two main components: the base, and the flag. The base is 40mm in diameter, houses a battery holder and an LED and has a slot for the flag. The flag fits into a slot on the top of the base ideally positioned to accept the most light from the LED installed in the base, is made of translucent acrylic and comes with a number of different options. Having the Lit Objective Markers come in two pieces allows for safe storage and transport as well as allowing for customization.

Flag Color Options

The flags come in a number of different colors. Currently we are offering fluorescent Demonette Red, Reactive Green, Plasma Orange and Electric Blue. We are also testing other colors of translucent acrylic all of which can be found here.

Flag Design Options

The base set comes with a set of six numbered flags and additional sets of flags are available with “faction reminiscent” artwork. We are currently offering options for “every” faction of “every” game. Our current list of games includes Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, Warmachine, Hordes, Dust, Infinity, Dropzone Commander, Relic Knight, Robotech, Heavy Gear, Ogre and, well, you tell us what game you want supported. Do we currently have artwork prepared for every faction of every one of these games? No, but take a look here to see what Josh has already done and expect that the quality of the work he will do on the rest of the artwork will meet or exceed what you see there.
