Broken Contract Returns

Breaker: Nells Turnbull – the Sneak

We’ve been working behind the scenes, developing the game further and getting ready to approach Kickstarter a second time. We’ve decided not to pursue the boxed game format this time around because the start up costs were just too prohibitive to raise. Instead, we’ve split the boxed game into 4 separate products:

Broken Contract Rule Book
This is a 32 page book with an overview of the setting, all the rules to the game, character creation rules, a scenario, guidance on how to create your own scenarios, and blank character cards. The inside cover will fold out into a mining area game board and a rules reference card.

Initiative and Equipment Card Deck
This will be a deck of 40-80 (1 5/8″ x 2 1/2″) cards that includes 26 Initiative Cards and an assortment of Equipment Cards.

Broken Contract – Deep Underground Scenario Book
This ~16 page booklet will launch the FerrumSky story arc and will contain multiple scenarios, game board sections, background, and Character Cards for the cast of characters detailed in these narrative scenarios, giving you at least 2-4 evenings of entertainment – and even more if we can fund more!

Broken Contract – Deep Underground Miniature Set
Currently this will be a single set of 8 white metal miniatures – 3 Prods and 5 Breakers. The set will cover the Characters covered in Broken Contract – Deep Underground. Ideally, we’d love to increase this model count when the next Kickstarter comes around, so be on the lookout for that.

In the last month and a half we’ve expanded the back story, added a character creation system to the rule book, commissioned more art from John “Geng” Gendall, more 3D sculpts from Tim Barry, and have gotten our first two 3D print prototypes from VisionProto. We’ll show those prototypes off when we get some better photos of them, but things are moving right along. Currently, we’re in the revision stage on three brand new 3D sculpts for the Breaker Characters: Nells Turnbull (pictured above), Trest the Gen-Mod, and Talla Kellerman, both pictured below. If all goes well we should be showing off the renders very soon!

In the meantime, follow Broken Contract on Facebook, Twitter, or the Broken Contract Design Blog to see all the latest info.

Thanks for reading.
