Broken Contract – Overseer Smythe and the Kickstarter Continues!

Over the last week there have been a lot of stuff going on in the world of Broken Contract. This time last week we released the Alpha Rules for FREE download. They are still available and we would love your feedback. Download them, give them a read through, and fill us in on what you think.

The rules weren’t all though. Our graphic artist, Sam Alcarez, turned in the first prototype for the Equipment Cards.

And the biggest news was that we launched the Kickstarter for Broken Contract – Deep Underground on Labor Day.

Since we launched the Kickstarter the art is still coming in. The piece that we led this article with is for Overseer Smythe. You can see the evolution of Overseer Smythe across Update #2 and Update #3 on the Kickstarter. Remember, the $1 Pledge option allows you to follow the Updates and comment on them, which is a great way to involve yourself in the process. Or you can also Like Broken Contract on Facebook.

Finally, on reddit someone asked the question, “Is Broken Contract strictly a campaign based game?” so after I answered the question on reddit I decided to give a more detailed answer to it in Update #4 because I’m sure people curious about the game want to know whether they can play a one off game and get joy out of playing the base scenarios again and again. Speaking of reddit, my friend and play tester, Brian, sat down with the rules and ran through the scenario ‘It’s Time’ by themselves last weekend. He did a photo battle report with proxies to showcase a bit of how it plays and what kinds of options it allows for. I think he really captured the energy of the game so give it a quick read if you’re having a slow day at work. A Play Test Session with My Friends Homebrew Game.

Its been a busy few days since we launched this Kickstarter and we’re still only halfway through the first week so take the time to check out the rules and the Kickstarter. If you have any questions or insights, please share them in the comments.

Thanks and I hope everyone has a great weekend!
