Broken Contract Kickstarter

This weekend Broken Contract made its debut at AdeptiCon. I was there running demos all weekend, telling people about a dystopian future of worker insurrection and then taking them into the action packed mines of the FerrumSky Corporation. While I was there I launched our very modest Kickstarter for a simple box of 8 miniatures (5 Breakers and 3 Prods). It also includes some light Add-Ons and Stretch Goals that I would love to complete. In the first 24 hours we cruised past the halfway mark and we just crept over 75% of our initial goal as we are pushing into Day 3. I think this is fantastic for a small unknown miniature company and I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you Backers!

Dave from the Nerdherders Podcast out of New Hampshire left this in the Kickstarter Comments last night:

“I played the demo at Adepticon (I’m the guy with his hat backward In the last update!!) I backed this right after playing. One…the models are stellar. Two…the game was crisp and clean. very cinematic. I’m really looking forward to playing more of it.”

I think that’s fantastic praise, and we’re still in the playtesting stage. In fact, the reason we want to get these models out to the world is so that we can get them into people’s hands. We want you all to print the paper components and do some external playtesting and give us some solid feedback. That way we can return in the autumn with a printed and bound rulebook and a polished set of initiative and equipment cards that have already been broken by the public and honed into the most fun and engaging ruleset it can be! To get you started, here’s the Broken Contract Rule Book PDF.

I’ll be working on getting some supplemental videos up on the Kickstarter today so that you can get an overview of the rule book and game play, but in the meantime, check out the Broken Contract Kickstarter video, pledge $1 if it looks interesting but you aren’t ready to pull the trigger, and get involved in the comments! We’d love to hear from you. Thanks for reading.
